Police are requesting assistance from members of the community in relation to a matter that occurred around midnight on Sunday, January 1 in Westport Park during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
An 11-year-old boy from Dapto was found by Police in a severe state of intoxication and needing assistance.
Concerned members of the public were present and the ambulance was contacted.
The young person was conveyed by ambulance to Port Macquarie Base Hospital due to the effects of his intoxication.
Police said it appears that the minor was in the company of his father who was also intoxicated and drinking from a wine cask.
The matter is currently under investigation and any members of the public who witnessed this matter are urged to contact the Mid North Coast licensing police or the Port Macquarie Police Station on 65830199.
