A girl has been charged with two assaults in Port Macquarie last week and another two young persons have been dealt with under the Young Offenders Act for allegedly filming the incidents.
About 2pm last Sunday, a 14-year-old girl was at a beach on Tuppenny Road, Port Macquarie, when she was approached by another 14-year-old girl, who was in a group with others.
The girl allegedly assaulted the victim and by punching her and pulling her hair. Another boy and girl, both aged 14, allegedly filmed the assault.
About 2.30pm in the same vicinity the girl approached another 14-year-old girl, again allegedly assaulting her by punching her and pulling her hair.
Both victims suffered facial injuries.
The incidents were reported to Port Macquarie Police, who commenced an investigation.
As a result, the 14-year-old girl was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of affray and breach bail. She appeared in Port Macquarie Local Court today and was refused bail to re-appear in the same court on October 21, 2011.
A 14-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were dealt with under the Young Offenders Act for allegedly filming the incident.
A check of the phone revealed footage of a number of other assaults, allegedly committed by the same girl.
