Candidate pitches in at soup kitchen

Colleen Carmody at the soup kitchen

Country Labor candidate for the Port Macquarie Hastings Council Local Government elections, Colleen Carmody, enjoyed lunch at the Anglican soup kitchen and met with Bruce Cohen, the hard working volunteers and the supporters.
The soup kitchen opens each Wednesday to serve a hot three-course meal to the 70 people who enjoy the predominately-donated ingredients cooked with love by the regular volunteers.
There are bread, cakes and juices to take away after the meal.
Colleen enjoyed the hour she spent chatting with the regulars and hearing their concerns for the Port Macquarie region.
