A fast food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint in Kempsey last Tuesday.
About 9.30pm on May 8, three men entered the restaurant on Belgrave Street, Kempsey, armed with a firearm and knife.
The men threatened restaurant employees before two of them jumped the counter and took money from the register.
They fled with a sum of cash and police were alerted.
There were no customers in the restaurant during the incident and no one was injured.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the restaurant, to come forward.
All three men had their faces concealed, however, are described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in their early 20s, thin to medium build and approximately 160cm tall.
They were all wearing dark-coloured hooded jumpers, long pants and joggers.
Police are investigating possible links between this incident and other armed robberies within the Coffs/Clarence and Mid-North Coast Local Area Commands in recent weeks.
