Armed robbery at local tavern

Police are appealing for information following the armed robbery of a tavern at Port Macquarie on Thursday night.
About 11:50pm on April 12 three staff members were leaving the tavern on Ocean Drive when they were confronted by five males.
The males, who were armed with knives and had their faces covered, forced the three men back into the tavern and demanded access to the safe.
The group were given a large sum of cash and then fled from the tavern. During the robbery one of the employees sustained a minor laceration.
Police were contacted and immediately attended the tavern where they established a crime scene which was examined by local detectives.
Investigators are now looking for the five males. The first is described as having a large build and wearing a dark blue top, grey pants and dark-coloured shoes. The second male is described as having a solid build and wearing a two-tone light and dark coloured top and white shoes. The third male is described as having a thin build and wearing a black hooded top, dark pants and white shoes.
The fourth male is described as having a solid build and wearing a dark hooded top, dark pants and white shoes while the fifth male is only described as wearing a dark hooded top.
Anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information about the identity and whereabouts of the males is asked to contact Port Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
