A man was injured during a home invasion in Port Macquarie on Saturday.
Police and other emergency services were called to a home in Bay Street, Port Macquarie, about 8am on April 14 where they found a 67-year-old man with serious injuries.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Local Area Command attended and were told an unknown man forced entry to the home about 6am and assaulted the man, causing him to lose consciousness.The intruder stole a sum of cash before fleeing.
The injured man’s friends notified emergency services after they went to the home and found him with serious injuries to his head and body. He was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he remains in a serious condition. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
