Police have arrested and charged four teenagers after a taxi driver was allegedly assaulted and robbed at Taree on Saturday.
A 63-year-old man told police he collected four young people from a home in Mudford Street, Taree, about midnight.
About 20 minutes later, the driver was allegedly assaulted and robbed by the group.
Detectives reviewed CCTV footage from the taxi and arrested a 13-year-old girl from Wauchope and a 14-year-old boy from Taree.
They were each charged with one count of robbery in company.
The girl was refused bail and appeared in Taree Children’s Court on October 15; the boy was bail refused to appear in Parramatta Children’s Court on October 16.
Later that day, a further two young people were arrested.
A 17-year-old youth and a 15-year-old boy, both from Purfleet, have each been charged with robbery in company.
They were refused bail to appear in Taree Children’s Court on October 16.
