Fundraiser for koalas

WYNDHAM Vacation Resort in Port Macquarie has organised a fundraiser to help feed the koalas at the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
On a daily basis, the staff at the koala hospital experience a shortage of trees and difficulty in collecting fresh leaf to feed the injured koalas which are in the hospital.
To help alleviate this problem, Wyndham Vacation Resort has embarked on a project to plant Koala food trees. Koalas feed on a variety of eucalypts, the more common being Tallowood, Swamp Mahogany and Forest Red Gum.
The community is being encouraged to make a donation, which will allow 250 native plants, along with 18 advanced trees, to be planted on Thursday 5 September at 3pm.
Everyone is invited to attend. There will be a sausage sizzle, cold drinks and refreshments on sale on the day, with all proceeds going to the koala hospital.
If you would like to make a donation to the Koala Hospital visit www.koalahospital.org.au or phone 6584 1522.
