Police are hunting four men after a home invasion where a man was threatened with a knife and tied-up at Port Macquarie last Thursday morning.
About 2:30am, the occupants of a house in Cornwallis Close were asleep when four men forced their way into the house via a rear side window.
The men, who had their faces covered and were armed with knives and a meat cleaver, woke the couple up and demanded money.
A 63-year-old woman was detained in the bedroom while her 65-year-old husband was forced at knife point to open a safe.
The four men then ransacked the house stealing cash and jewellery before tying the man up and forcing him into a wardrobe.
After the four men had fled, the shaken but uninjured couple contacted police who attended the scene minutes later.
A crime scene was established at the premises and examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from Port Macquarie are conducting investigations into the incident.
The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, slim build, aged in his 20s, wearing a light grey hooded top, black Adidas tracksuit pants, white shoes and armed with a machete.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, slim build, wearing black clothing and armed with a knife.
The third man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, solid build, about 183cm tall, wearing dark clothing and armed with a knife.
