TWENTY local community groups were awarded a total of $300,000 in Community Building Partnership Grants during a presentation last Wednesday by NSW Treasurer, Mike Baird.
Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams said the funding announcement was great news for 20 local community organisations and having Treasurer Mike Baird to present the cheques was an added bonus.
“The Community Building Partnerships Grants are a win-win for the community creating local construction jobs, increasing business opportunities and directly benefitting community groups as projects get underway,” Mrs Williams said.
“This year’s recipients come from throughout the Port Macquarie electorate with a diverse range of projects being funded and it will be exciting to see each of them come to fruition.
“During his visit to Port Macquarie, Treasurer Baird will also inspect the progress on the Endeavour Mental Health Clubhouse which is currently being built with Community Building Partnership funds from 2010,” Mrs Williams said.
