Funding boost for local projects

Local environmental projects are set to receive a boost following State Government funding.
Nationals Member for Port Macquarie, Leslie Williams, has recently announced that the Lord Howe Island Board and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council were both successful with their funding applications for a number of environmental projects.
“Lord Howe Island Board will receive $45,000 for an ongoing project for a coastal hazard study and Coastal Zone Management Plan.
“Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will receive $220,000 for ongoing projects including works at Lake Cathie stormwater outlets,” Mrs Williams said.
“The grants come from the Coastal Management Program which aims to protect and enhance the beaches, headlands and foreshores of NSW.
“The funds will help Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the Lord Howe Island Board plan for the future and carry out works to manage and protect the coastal environments.”
