The locations of another three fixed-wireless towers as part of the National Broadband Network have been announced for the Hastings.
Independent Lyne MP Rob Oakeshott is encouraging residents who live near the proposed sites at Telegraph Point, Comboyne and Kendall to look at the plans and, if they have concerns, to lodge a submission with engineering consultant Aurecon before the deadline early next month.
“Community consultation has been underway at the Lake Innes site for the past two weeks,” Mr Oakeshott said.
“The new sites are at 89 Lorne Road, Kendall; 26 Cutlers Road, Telegraph Point; and 264 Herbert Gill Road, Comboyne.
“The NBN fixed-wireless towers mean some households in our community will, for the first time, have access to high-speed broadband – access to internet speeds up to 150 times faster than dial-up and up to eight times faster than ADSL.
“The benefits to our community will include better education, health and business opportunities, however, for some residents it will also mean a change on the landscape.
“I encourage affected property owners at Telegraph Point and Kendall to look at the plans and to comment on them before October 5; and for residents at Comboyne, the deadline is October 9,” Mr Oakeshott said.
Submissions can be emailed to joel.fredericks@aurecongroup.com or mailed to PO Box 538, Neutral Bay, NSW 2089. Further details are also available by phoning Aurecon planner Joel Fredericks on 9465 5462.
