Author’s life in training

Shawn Rannard - sharing his life on the line.

RETIRED railwayman, author, railway enthusiast and historian Shawn Rannard, of Port Macquarie, has released a 198-page book of his experiences working for the NSW Railways.
Entitled Life on the Line, it details Shawn’s 35-plus-years career, and highlights the stark differences between the railway of yesterday and that of today.
Shawn started in 1968 as a junior clerk, and occupied various jobs as clerk, station assistant, guard (travelling in a vehicle called a brake-van at the end of the train), assistant station master and station master, and later, in administrative positions.
Life on the Line follows the very successful Portrait of a Classic, the history of the 46 class electric engines which Shawn wrote and released in 2010.
The book is available direct from Shawn for $50 including postage by emailing riverboy99@gmail.com or calling 0401 959 651.
