THE Port Macquarie branch of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia held its monthly competition day on Sunday 22 September.
The results of the competition were as follows: Events 1, 2 and 3 all .22 rimfire, 50 metres.
Event 1: 10 shots, big target, off elbows: A Grade 1st D. Adlington, 2nd R. Piper, 3rd. D. Atkins and S. Blanch; B Grade 1st B. Hollis, 2nd D. Winnicki, 3rd J. Goody.
Event 2: 10 shots (2 x 5) twin targets, benchrest: A Grade 1st S. Blanch, 2nd R. Piper, 3rd D. Atkins; B Grade 1st B. Hollis, 2nd D. Winnicki, 3rd J. Goody.
Event 3: 12 shots, small targets, benchrest (best five targets to count): A Grade 1st S. Blanch, 2nd R. Moy, 3rd R. Piper. B Grade 1st D. Winnicki, 2nd B. Hollis, 3rd L. Stass.
Event 4: 6 shots c/fire,100 metres, small targets, benchrest (best five targets to count): 1st B. Pharo, 2nd D Atkins, 3rd.B. Pharo and K. Bainbrigge.
Event 5: 10 shots c/f,100 metres, benchrest targets, benchrest: 1st R. Piper, 2nd S. Blanch, 3rd K. Bainbrigge.
Event 6: 5 shot, military rifle,100 metres, sitting with post: 1st R. Piper, 2nd D. Adlington, 3rd B.Hollis.
Event 7: 5 shot, any calibre, open sights,100 metres, benchrest: 1st B. Hollis, 2nd R. Piper, 3rd J. Goody.
Event 8: 25 clay targets,15 metres mixed: 1st K. Bainbrigge, 2nd J. Goody, 3rd R. Piper.
Chicken 1: K. Bainbrigge, Chicken 2: S. Blanch
The next competition day will be on 27 October and will consist of two .22 events, two centrefire events, and two shotgun events as well as the chicken competition.
The range is at the Hastings Shooting Complex at the end of Lady Nelson Drive, at the rear of the racecourse. Any query that you may have regarding licences, range passes and club membership will be cheerfully answered. Don’t forget that the three items must be able to be produced by shooters.
Practice is available each Friday morning and on the morning of the third Sunday of the month. (See program for benchrest practice dates). Each attendance, whether practice or competition, counts towards licence requirements.
