Avoiding the crash

IT guru Ben Waters -- sharing his knowledge with business owners.

NEARLY 30 micro-businesses in the Hastings area were treated to an educational presentation about how to keep their computer and – ultimately – business running well at a Micro Business Forum (MBF) bi-monthly meeting at Town Green Inn in Port Macquarie.
The owner of the Success Dynamics Group and MBF speaker liaison, Pix Jonasson, said Ben Waters from local IT company PC Pitstop shared his wealth of knowledge about computers and IT.
“Drawing upon his extensive experience in the computer industry, Ben provided five key tips for keeping computers and businesses at optimal capacity,” she said.
These tips included; Increasing the performance of your computer, reducing the chance of getting a virus, the benefits of a triple back up, keeping your computer cool, and… when in doubt, ask the experts.
“Often business owners are so busy working in their business, they don’t actually work on their business,” Ms Jonasson said.
“Not only were Ben’s tips useful for computers and businesses, ironically they were also relevant to business owners themselves.”
Prior to Ben’s presentation there was an interactive session where attendees learnt valuable public speaking and microphone techniques.
All micro-business are invited to attend the next MBF meeting on Friday, 15 November, 9.30am-12.30pm, at Town Green Inn.
