MOVIE buffs are in for a treat with Hastings Moonlight Movies set to return to the region tonight and this long weekend thanks to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
Movies will be screened under the stars at Kendall tonight (Thursday, 3 October), Wauchope on Friday, 4 October and Port Macquarie on Saturday, 5 October. All movies are rated PG and entry is free.
At Kendall Sportsground, movie-goers can enjoy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, a critically-acclaimed comedy starring some big names including Judi Dench, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson and Maggie Smith. The movie will start at 6.40pm with a running time of approximately 118 minutes.
Kendall Men’s Shed will be firing up the barbecue as a fundraiser and movie goers are encouraged to head down to Kendall Sportsground early to give themselves plenty of time to grab a sausage sandwich before the movie gets underway.
At Bain Park in Wauchope, Parental Guidance will screen from 6.40pm with a running time of 105 minutes. The movie stars Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, Marissa Tomei and Tom Everett Scott and is guaranteed to provide plenty of laughs.
The barbecue on the night will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Wauchope.
The final screening will be on Port Macquarie’s Town Green from 6.40pm on 5 October and will feature the Academy Award winning Life of Pi. The movie, directed by multi-award winner Ang Lee, has a running time of 127 minutes.
In Port Macquarie, moviegoers are encouraged to head into the CBD early and grab something to eat from one of the many local cafes and eateries.
Those people attending a Hastings Moonlight Movie will need to take something to sit on such as a chair or rug, plus a torch and some warm clothing in case the weather turns cool.
