HASTINGS Home Hospice celebrated another successful year at a Christmas lunch at Eighteen Thirty Restaurant and Bar at the Glasshouse last week.
Hospice members were joined by supporters and the wonderful palliative care team.
The hospice has this year provided more than $25,000 for local palliative care and other cancer patients and their families to help ease the hardship.
The hospice provides the equipment that allows local cancer patients to remain in their own home and also provides financial assistance with medications, transport, accommodation and other needs as required.
Nurse manager Yvonne Carmichael from Wauchope Hospital was also presented with a cheque for $25,000 to assist with the purchase of seven beds for the new palliative care unit, which will open next year.
The hospice can be contacted on 0405 467 926 or through Community Health.
