FAME the Musical will light up the Glasshouse this Saturday.
Wauchope and Port Macquarie Performing Arts (WPMPA) is coming to the end of its third year in business and celebrating with a production of Fame the Musical.
Principal Stacey Morgan has been overwhelmed with the enthusiasm shown by students and parents for her vision to give students the opportunity to sing, dance and act in this theatrical production.
“The students are presenting the whole of Fame the Musical on their own, a huge challenge for students of their age,” she said.
“For many of our dancers, auditioning for a musical, having to sing on their own for the first time was a nerve-racking experience.
“To see their confidence grow and the whole production come together so well, I couldn’t be happier with the way they’ve handled the challenge and I know the audience will be impressed when they see it this weekend.”
For students in the graduating class of WPMPA this is their final chance to shine before heading off to pursue careers in the arts.
Sam Welsh, who is starring as Nick, Alexandria Barron as Serena, and Phillipa Mills as Ms Bell, are all graduating this year and this show is a great way for them to finish their training.
Fame is part of the WPMPA end-of-year concert. Act one will be routines from the school’s twinkle toes through to senior performance students and act two will be Fame the Musical.
There will be two shows, one at 11am and the other 4pm. Tickets to the whole concert are $25 each and available at the Glasshouse box office. Tickets to Fame the Musical only are $15.
