THE Rollands Plains Community Hall is looking picture perfect once again thanks the efforts of local volunteers and tradespeople.
NSW Deputy Premier and Oxley MP Andrew Stoner visited the facility last Wednesday to inspect recent improvements funded by the NSW Government’s community building partnership program.
Mr Stoner said the unique program offered an opportunity for local councils and small community organisations to access funding enabling community infrastructure to be built, refurbished or enhanced.
“It also provides jobs for local workers in our electorate,” Mr Stoner said.
He said the Rollands Plains Recreation Reserve Trust was granted $3800 to assist with painting the exterior of the hall, which was used for school functions, monthly film nights and church meetings.
“It’s great to see community facilities being used for a wide range of purposes,” he said.
Future plans for the facility include upgrading the toilet, adding heating and improving the acoustics. The trust would also like to build a skillion barbecue area for entertaining.
