Some of the many art and craft works on display.

IF you have a little spare time, and love arts and crafts and things of an historic nature, the Wauchope Heritage Amateur Art and Country Crafts Gallery would love to hear from you.
The gallery is situated inside Wauchope’s famous tourist attraction Timbertown Heritage Theme Park, and is run as an independent incorporated club by a group of local amateur art and craft enthusiasts.
Club vice-president Jean Rumbel said the gallery had been in operation since 2010 and provided an important outlet where people could sell their art and craft.
“The people who visit Timbertown come from all corners of the world, and like browsing through the gallery and remark on the high quality and novelty value of our art and craft,” Mrs Rumbel said.
“Members dress in colonial dress in order to be a part of the 1800s theme, and to enhance the experience for park visitors.
“We find it is a great social outlet when interacting with the warm, friendly people who visit the park, and being a part of their experience.
“Existing members come from all over the Hastings region, manning the gallery on a seven-day-a-week roster.”
The club is currently having a membership drive and is staging an open meet-and-see event for potential members at Timbertown on 28 February at 5pm.
“There will be a barbecue and displays, and you can meet our committee, and see what we are all about for yourself,” Mrs Rumbel said.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to register their interest by phoning Timbertown reception on 6586 1940.
