Sparkling sounds of the ’70s

Australian entertainer Steve Cummins – bringing Neil Diamond’s hits to the Hastings next month.

FANS of Neil Diamond will be able to hear all of their idol’s best songs next month.
The North Haven Bowling and Recreation Club is hosting a Neil Diamond Super Hits Show on Saturday 8 February.
Costing just $15 and kicking off at 7.30pm, you can sing along to songs like Sweet Caroline, Cherry Cherry, Cracklin Rosie, Kentucky woman, Solitary Man, Beautiful Noise, I’m a Believer, Crunchy Granola Suite and I Am I Said.
Neil Diamond’s music is still as popular today as it was when it was first released, so popular in fact there is not enough of Neil to go around.
Multi award-winning Australian entertainer Steve Cummins is the only tribute artist in the world to have featured on the same program as the man himself. It was live to air on the UK’s BBC radio program Beautiful noise (The Neil Diamond Story) and heard by more than three million listeners.
Steve Cummins has been described by the president of the Neil Diamond fan club in Australia as the only performer to have mastered the feel of Neil Diamond music.
Along with Show Band, the Neil Diamond Super Hits Show has toured extensively, playing to packed houses throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia for the past 17 years. Performances for the King of Java, pre-match entertainment for the World Super 12’s Rugby in Dunedin NZ, headlining the Gladstone Harbor Festival and numerous performances at the Melbourne Zoo twilight concerts are just a few of the notable credits this show has earned.
Don’t miss this brilliant tribute to the man and the songs that embraced the world – it’s the closest you will get to 1976 again!
The club is also offering a great dinner and show special for $40. You can enjoy a fantastic two-course meal of braised rack of lamb with fresh garden vegetables and a delicious lemon meringue pie with cream for dessert. However, this special must be booked and pre-purchased with Shane at the club and tickets for this will not be available at the door. Ordinary tickets can be purchased at any time at the bar.
