Kendall tuned in to rare talent

Talented young violinist Grace Clifford will be delighting Hastings residents again with her music later this month.

THE organisers of the Kendall National Violin Competition are excited to welcome back to the North Coast its 2013 winner, the brilliant young Australian violinist Grace Clifford.
The competition organisers and major partner Forestry Corporation of NSW will be presenting this gifted young violinist in a recital program of virtuoso music for solo violin and with piano on 23 March, at 2pm, in the Kendall School of Arts.
Ms Clifford will be joined by competition pianist Jeanell Carrigan for her performances.
Grace Clifford is one of the most successful young Australian violinists of her generation. A prize winner of the prestigious Menuhin International violin competition in 2012 and finalist and prize winner of the 2013 ABC’s young performer award, Ms Clifford studies through the Sydney Conservatorium’s Open Academy, where she is a scholarship student.
Kendall National Violin Competition director Goetz Richter is very enthusiastic about Ms Clifford’s visit.
“This marvellous young violinist impressed everyone so much last year,” he said.
“She plays with superb technical fluency and precision and the true charisma of an artist. A really exciting musician who will make a name for herself internationally for sure in the years to come.”
Her program will include:
* Bach: Partita No.2 in D minor BWV 1004.
* Schubert: Sonata in A major for violin and piano Op 162 D 574.
* Ysaye: Solo Sonata Op 27 No.3 Ballade.
* Greenbaum: The Infinite Heartbeat.
* Ravel: Tzigane – Rapsodie de Concert for violin and piano.
Tickets to the recital cost $25 for adults and $10 for students and are available by sending cheque and SAE to KNVC, P.O. Box 86, Kendall 2439, or by contacting Mavis Barnes on 6559 4339.
