THE Hastings Farmers’ Markets, the original and best healthy shopping alternative in the region, celebrated 12 years at Wauchope Showground last month.
Serving up a wide selection of great local product, there are around 40 stallholders at the market offering not only fresh fruit and vegetables but also other fabulous local product including pork, beef, a variety of local cheeses, smoked fish and oysters.
You’ll also find delicious hand-made chocolates, delectable cakes and freshly cut flowers. Add to that preserves, condiments, and some great take-away food, and the market is a great morning out for all the family with plenty of room for children to safely play on the showground lawns.
“We are finding more stallholders who specialise in products for the table and hand-made goods that contribute to the sustainability of our environment,” co-ordinator Elly Franchimont said.
“They are catering for the many regulars shoppers who know that buying fresh, seasonal product and locally made fine foods is the best and healthiest alternative for body, soul and the community.”
