Tender agreed for $4m dam

THE construction of a new 20-megalitre water reservoir will help cater for new residential and commercial development in the Sancrox area.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has resolved to accept a tender for just over $4 million for the construction of the reservoir.
The reservoir will be the dedicated town water reservoir servicing the Thrumster Urban Growth Area, the Sancrox Employment Precinct and – in the longer term – the Greater Sancrox Investigation area.
It will be built by Hornick Constructions off Burrawan Forest Drive.
The council has allocated $9 million for the project over the next three years from its water fund capital works programs. Funding assistance has included a $2 million grant from the Federal Building Better Regional Communities scheme and a $3 million grant from the NSW Housing Acceleration fund.
