Camping wish comes true

A delighted Brendan helps Dane Alling of Johnno's Camper Trailers unpack the camper-trailer.

A 17-YEAR-OLD Port Macquarie teenager will be having a summer to remember this year – thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation and a local business.
The foundation arranged for Johnno’s Camper Trailers of Wauchope to present a camper-trailer to the teen, Brendan Gallagher, of Bonny Hills, who has cystic fibrosis.
“We have both been kicking ourselves and thinking it is not quite real yet,” Brendan’s mum Corine Rose said, as the camper-trailer was unveiled at their home last week.
Mrs Rose and Brendan have lived in Bonny Hills since he was a small child and she says he loves the outdoors.
“He loves getting out and about and enjoying the outdoors and this will let us do just that,” she said.
“We haven’t planned where to go yet because it hasn’t sunken in, but there are some lovely camping spots we will be exploring.”
Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children and young people between the ages of three and 18 years with life-threatening medical conditions.

The camper-trailer presented to Brendan is valued at $15,000.
