Great music and guests

FESTIVAL-GOERS at this year’s Wingham Akoostik Music Festival will not only hear great music from the many artists, bands and choirs, but they can also meet with some local celebrities.
Special guests include Myall Lakes MP Stephen Bromhead, NRMA president Wendy Machin, and ABC Radio Mid North Coast identities Cameron Marshall and Michael Spooner.
Event co-ordinator Donna Ballard said they were delighted local high-profile people were attending and supporting the festival, which was now in its sixth year.
“At its new home, Wingham Showground, the two-day festival will officially be opened on Friday 18 October by Ms Machin and Mr Bromhead,” she said.
“After a free choir workshop with acclaimed choral conductor Rachel Hore, we will kick start Akoostik with the many choirs singing this year for the opening night performances from 6pm.
“We are thrilled Michael Spooner, together with Helen Knight, Manning Entertainment Centre, will be our MC announcing our Saturday artists.”
Tickets range from just $15 to $45 per day and are available online at www.oztix.com.au
