THE fabulous and diversely talented Justine Clarke – award-winning actress and all-round children’s entertainer – will be performing in Port Macquarie later this year.
Part of a regional tour of NSW and Victoria during the July school holidays, Justine’s new show was inspired by the song I Am A … lifted from the ever-popular hit album I Like To Sing and will encourage young audiences to engage their imaginations through words, song and movement.
Set to a wonderfully colourful, craft-themed stage, the show will feature the familiar songs kids know and love from all three of Justine’s albums, with an emphasis on a variety of instruments and sound, mostly ones you have on hand in the lounge room or even the toy box.
“My show is always about encouraging the audience to join in and make music together, to make it more like a party.”
Justine began her long and varied career during childhood and has become one of Australia’s most well-known faces, as a highly-regarded, award-winning actress and of course as a versatile children’s entertainer.
A long-standing presenter on ABC TV’s Play School and a veteran of numerous live performances, Justine has three top-selling, ARIA nominated CDs and accompanying DVDs: platinum seller I Like To Sing, Songs To Make You Smile and the chart-topping Great Big World (released through ABC).
In 2013 Justine was presented with the ARIA Award for Best Children’s Album for her fourth CD, A Little Day Out.
Among several successful ventures in TV, film and live projects, Justine entered into book publishing with her best-selling children’s picture book, The Gobbledygook Is Eating A Book, and plans to release a CD book later this year entitled The Ugly Duckling.
The Port Macquarie performance will be at the Glasshouse on Sunday 13 July at 11am.
