THE Port Pirates rugby team celebrated their 40th anniversary on the weekend, playing at home on Saturday and then enjoying a celebratory lunch at the Westport Club on Sunday which ran well into the evening.
Fittingly, the club won out three of the four games, including a close-fought match against Kempsey in first grade with only the Under 18s going down, which was understandable since this team has many new players who have not played together as a team before.
