IN the wake of Zac’s death, two fund-raising appeals have been launched.
His father, Kevin, has suggested a collection to send the three young men who were with Zac when he was attacked on a surfing trip – Kurt Gillan, Lindsy Isaac and Shayden Schrader – and his suggestion has been taken up by an arm of the Honour Church.
Kevin would like the three youngsters accompanied by Damian King, who is a Port Macquarie local and twice world champion body boarder.
Please electronically deposit your tax deductible donation into Hope Shop’s HCCU bank account and email John Parer (john@hopeshop.org.au) to tell the Hope Shop how much you gave and what address you want your receipt mailed to.
The BSB is 802214, A/C No: 72342.
Alternatively you can mail your donation to the Hope Shop, 3 Milton Ct, Port Macquarie NSW 2444.
Label your gift ‘Let’s Love from your name’.
Youth For Christ, where Zac was an intern, is also appealling for donations to a new Zac Young leadership fund to help raise funds for a scholarship for the next YFC intern.
YFC regional director Daryl Carter, one of the speakers at Zac’s funeral, told how God had drawn the two of them together and Zac had told him God had come to him in a vision with the number 12. Zac did not know it at that time, but YFC internships are 12 months and within weeks Zac became a YFC intern. He was only weeks from completing his internship at the time of his death.
Details of how you can donate are in the advertisement on the first page of this special four-page tribute to Zac (the Independent is sponsoring advertisements to help publicise the appeal).
