The Hastings Co-Op celebrated its 97th birthday last Friday, with a morning tea at the department store in Wauchope. Board chairwoman Julie Muller is pictured cutting the celebratory cake with Port Macquarie-Hastings mayor Peter Besseling. The anniversary was particularly special because the Hastings Co-Op expanded its operations in Port Macquarie last week, opening a new branch of the department store in the Peachtree Arcade (shop 2/88 Horton Street). The store will showcase an array of giftware, homewares, fashion and accessories, plus some of the Christmas decorations proving so popular at the Wauchope store.
