CHRISTMAS is coming to Wauchope tonight.
The annual Christmas in Bain Park will kick off at 5pm, sponsored by the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Holiday Coast Credit Union.
Performers include the Wauchope and Port Macquarie Performing Arts and Wauchope Youth Theatre accompanied by Rosanna Vanderley on piano, Sing Australia – Wauchope branch, the Combined Churches Community Choir and the Hastings Town Band. There will be a range of children’s activities and markets in the park.
“We are very pleased to welcome local performers who joined us last year and some new faces too,” Wauchope chamber co-ordinator Lisa McPherson said.
“This event brings people from around the region together and brings a little Christmas spirit to the community.
“There are about 100 volunteers through the involvement of many community groups that work to make the night a success and we have seen increasing numbers over the last couple of years. It is a great opportunity to catch up with family and friends while enjoying the local talent to the backdrop of our great open space in Bain Park.”
The fun is expected to finish around 9pm, with many Wauchope businesses also staying open late to welcome shoppers with good old-fashioned courtesy and service.
