THE first red point event for the year was contested last Wednesday at the Port Macquarie Hastings Bridge Club and the first round winners were the “new” pairing of Pat Hamilton and Susan Lindner.
The pair narrowly touched out perennial finalists Carol Briscoe and Chris Manser with rank outsiders Graeme McLaren and John Schwab a close third. The event will be decided next Wednesday.
A reminder to everyone that this year’s beginner’s classes will commence on Monday 17 February at 9am. Also a general reminder to everyone that the lesson by David Beauchamp will be this Friday at 11am, doors open at 10.30, $15 a head.
