MID North Coast Girls Surfriders will be having a registration day on Sunday 2 February at Rainbow Beach, Bonny Hills, from 8am to 10am, followed by the AGM. New members welcome.
Competition day is the second Sunday of every month, with the first being Sunday 9 February with a 7am check-in.
At the recent annual presentation all eight divisions were hotly contested with only one or two points being the difference between first, second and third places.
In the Beginner Girls Caddy Ally Knox and Kyra Evans were awarded equal first. Stand-out surfer girl Grace Monaghan won the Intermediate Mini Mal and the Intermediate Shortboard.
Rookie of the Year Caitlyn Black is another surfing champion in the making. Caitlin surfing originally started in the beginner girls caddy but as her surfing and confidence grew she progressed to beginner girls no caddy division and placed second the Intermediate Mini Mal. Caitlin’s overall improvement and sheer determination, courage and commitment to her surfing cemented her nomination for Rookie of the Year.
