THE ugly grey concrete footpath in the Port Macquarie CBD will soon be no more.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council plans to replace the footpath on Clarence Street between the Glasshouse and Short Street starting Monday 21 July. This work will be carried out as part of the revised Town Centre Master Plan (TCMP).
The proposed work – funded from TCMP reserve funds – involves the removal of the existing grey concrete footpath and replacement with exposed aggregate concrete to match other new footpaths within the CBD.
The council’s infrastructure and asset management director Jeffery Sharp said works will generally commence at 7am daily, with some early morning and evening works planned as the project proceeds.
