PORT Macquarie teenager Wade Mobbs will be taking on the world’s best fishermen and women in the Hobie Fishing World Championships later this month.
Mobbs, 16, is one of 13 competitors in the Australian team to contest the championships, which will take place from 30 October to 3 November at Bemm River and Marlo in Victoria’s East Gippsland.
In total 45 competitors from four continents and 17 countries are vying for the chance to win the coveted world champion title in the third annual event.
The Australian team is made up of qualifiers from the Australian kayak fishing community.
