A PARAGLIDER had a lucky escape last Thursday after landing on Pacific Drive instead of Shelly Beach.
Paul Holcroft, whose house fronts Pacific Drive, said the first he knew of the accident was when the power went out.
“Then we went out on the balcony and saw the powerlines shaking,” he said.
“I thought there must be something going on, so rushed out with my camera and found a paraglider had clipped the powerlines and then landed in the tree.
“It turns out the girl, who was an experienced paraglider, had got swept over the ridge and not made it to the beach, which is where they normally land.
“Luckily, she was unhurt, although obviously shocked and shaken by what happened.”
