THE winners of the 2013 North Coast TAFE e-Greeting Card Design Competition have been selected by a panel of three NCTAFE managers and will be presented with their prizes at a function later today.
The public have also been invited to view students’ artworks from 1pm on.
Entries were submitted by either students or staff in two categories – an image or an animation – which is suitable for circulation as an electronic greeting card to employers, businesses and community organisations from staff at North Coast TAFE.
The designer of the winning image, Summer Sights, is Christopher Sant, who is currently studying the certificate three in design fundamentals with teacher Kurtis Adamson.
The designer of the winning animation, A Xmas Present, Robyn Peters was very excited when she received the news.
“It certainly becomes worthwhile doing the extra work when you win a competition like this,” Robyn said.
The manager of media and public relations at North Coast TAFE, Neil Brown, said the judging panel chose the winning designs because they both met the brief comprehensively and reflected the spirit of both Christmas and North Coast TAFE.
Both winners are students at the Port Macquarie campus and will be presented with their prizes at a function in the Graduates Restaurant from 5.15pm. The student’s work will also be open for viewing from 1pm.
The acting head teacher for Creative Industries at Port Macquarie campus, Lorrae O’Brien, invited the Port Macquarie community to come and view the showcase.
“I’m delighted our Creative Industries students have the opportunity to present to the community a selection of high-quality work they have achieved during their qualifications,” she said.
“The excellent training the students receive, equips them with the necessary skills to be very competitive when seeking employment.”
