THE Majestic Cinemas’ first International Film Festival at its Port Macquarie complex hit the right note with movie-goers in a big way.
Marketing manager Courtney Gaunt said the opening night event last Thursday was a sell-out, with all the guests enjoying the British film Only Lovers Left Alive and beer and wine from Bago Winery and Black Duck Brewery.
“The other five films in the festival – especially the Saudi Arabian film Wadjda – proved very popular,” Ms Gaunt said.
“On the back of its success, the International Film Festival will return in 2015.”
Ms Gaunt said Majestic Cinemas would also be launching an Australian Film Festival in August and once again hosting the Travelling Film Festival in October.
“To add to an already stellar line-up we will also be showcasing MET Opera and National Theatre Live performances as part of our Select Series from July, so there is a lot happening at the cinema over the next few months,” she said.
