THE Residents Action Network held a public forum at the Port City Bowling Club last week, with the new waste system and road issues among the agenda items.
Guest speakers included three council representatives – environmental services group manager Tim Malloy, community engagement group manager Jaclyne Fisher and waste consultant Greg Freeman.
Jaclyne has been also managing the communications side of proposed changes to waste services and is fully briefed on the 2014/15 council operational plan currently on exhibition.
Action network member Brian Buckett also gave a report on the current foreshore issues, followed by Peta Pinson, who spoke about road works.
Other topics included the cost of running the Glasshouse and council general finances and the environmental levy.
Network spokeswoman Chris McLoughlin said she felt the 40 or so people who attended the meeting went away fairly satisfied with the answers provided by the guest speakers.
