PORT Macquarie MP Leslie Williams says she was shocked and saddened by the sudden resignation of Barry O’Farrell as Premier of New South Wales.
“Barry O’Farrell was an outstanding leader of the Liberal/Nationals team and I will always consider it to have been an honour and a privilege to serve my first three years as a Member of Parliament under his leadership,” Mrs Williams said.
“Barry has every reason to be extremely proud of the achievements of the government over the past three years and regional New South Wales including the Port Macquarie electorate are the beneficiaries of his legacy.
“The signing of agreements with the Commonwealth for a National Disability Insurance Scheme and the Gonski reforms, record investment in infrastructure and the boosting of frontline nurses, teachers and police are all hallmarks of his determination to put New South Wales back on track.
“I am confident that our state will continue to prosper with our new Premier Mike Baird at the helm and the incredibly strong team of Liberal and Nationals parliamentarians.”
