HASTINGS music lovers will get a chance to hear many of the songs on young Aussie star Taylor Henderson’s new hit album early next month.
Taylor will be performing in Port Macquarie on Thursday 7 August – only a few weeks after his album ‘Burnt Letters’ debuted on the ARIA chart at number one.
“The tour is named ‘Burnt Letters’ after the album and you can be sure you’ll hear most of the songs on the album,” his publicist promised.
Taylor burst into the national spotlight after being a finalist on Australia’s Got Talent in 2010 and X-Factor in 2013.
Sony Music signed the young musician late last year, just in time for his double-platinum number-one single ‘Borrow My Heart’, and a number-one platinum album Taylor Henderson – a collection of songs performed on The X-Factor. It was an auspicious start.
The talented young singer, still only 20-years-old, has spent the past few months working on brand-new material for Burnt Letters.
“Before The X-Factor I would just sit down in my room and write songs and no one ever heard them,” he said.
“If I did a gig, I’d be lucky if four people rocked up to the gig!
“The whole X-Factor experience has changed all that for me – now people have had a chance to listen to me, and Sony Music have been able to see that I can put a song together and they’ve put a lot of faith in me and my career going forward.”
The Burnt Letters’ tour will take in many larger regional venues in addition to Port Macquarie.
The Port Macquarie performance will be at the Glasshouse, kicking off at 8pm.
Tickets cost $45.
