A GRAND plan for the future direction of the Glasshouse has been adopted by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
Last week, the council adopted a strategic plan for the Glasshouse running from 2014 to 2017.
The plan outlines a range of recommendations focusing on increased utilisation of the facility and the development of additional revenue streams which have been identified as critical to reducing costs and ensuring the venue’s viability.
Deputy mayor Adam Roberts said the Glasshouse was a key resource for the delivery of cultural, community and commercial outcomes in the region.
“The Glasshouse is a unique, nationally recognised and multi-award winning facility. It contributes significantly to the economic benefit, place making, lifestyle and marketing of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region,” Cr Roberts said.
“Within this context, the Glasshouse Strategic Plan 2014-2017 aims to facilitate the achievement of the council’s vision for the venue through a focus on four key outcome areas.
“The outcome areas are about ensuring good governance, developing successful partnerships, enhancing utilisation and visitation, and promoting viability.”
The council believes the Glasshouse Strategic Plan 2014-2017 will continue the significant progress that has been made in reducing the net operating cost of the Glasshouse to the community.
