After 25 years, CWA still cooking

PIctured front, from left are Margaret Brown, Pauline McKersie, Patricia Godfrey and Kitty Farrow. Behind are other club members, including Win Kesby, Denise Onslow and Joy Fleming.

TWENTY-five years is not long in the history of the Country Women’s Association but an important milestone for the Port Macquarie Evening branch.
Members celebrated their quarter century birthday at a dinner followed by a cake cutting at their last meeting. An original member of the branch and current president Margaret Brown had the honour of cutting the cake.
Members have been busy recently with an interesting afternoon at a local garlic farm – garlic being the product being studied this year. Members have also been at work producing toiletry bags for the Women’s Refuge and the hospital, trauma teddies and calico dolls for the children’s ward and ‘wraps with love’ for the disadvantaged.
The next meeting is at the Lion’s Den at 7.15pm on 16 July. Please ring Margaret on 6584 2202 for further information.
