For those who have ever wanted to learn an interesting new skill, this is the chance.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is offering workshops on bamboo construction, earth building and burlapcrete roofing at the Lost Plot community garden.
The workshops will run over 28, 29 and 30 June.
Day 1 – Learn about harvesting, treating and curing bamboo, as well as bamboo construction. Participants will build an entrance structure for the community garden.
Day 2 – Learn earth building with mud using the wattle and daub technique. Participants will build walls for the garden structure.
Day 3 – Learn about burlapcrete roofing using hessian and render, and roof the bamboo structure built on the previous two days.
The workshops are free for members of the Lost Plot.

Join in the fun and bring a plate to share for lunch. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided.
The workshops are an all-weather event and spaces are limited so get in quick.
