PORT Macquarie artist Lynne Bickhoff is using a different language these days – a visual one.
Lynne’s new solo exhibition, ‘My Visual Language’, will commence on 3 October and run through until 13 October at the Macleay Valley Community Art Gallery.
“This exhibition reflects my emotional response to the landscape or indeed whatever subject I choose to paint,” she said.
Lynne uses predominantly mixed media to create stunning artworks filled with light, colour and texture.
“My paintings are able to portray more eloquently than any words how I feel about our unique Australian landscape,” she said. “They are my visual voice.”
Colour and texture are key elements in her work and are reflected in the fabulous reds, oranges and ochres found in our outback areas, with turquoise, a full range of blues and sandy colours of the coast.
Lynne’s artworks have been very well received by both local, interstate and international buyers. The works in this exhibition range from panels 30cm square to three metres wide.
The gallery is located at 5 Kinchela St, Gladstone and is open from 10.30am through to 4pm. Lynne will be present during the exhibition and is also having a meet-the-artist day on Saturday, 5 October. Her work can be viewed online at www.lynnebickhoff.com.au
