LOCAL youth have been asked to spread the word about a thought-provoking new film about what’s happening in the lives of young people today.
The film, Rites of Passage, will screen in Port Macquarie on Wednesday, December 4 2013 at 6.30pm and will include a Q&A with the film-makers and young talent in the movie.
However, the producers have a limited budget and to fund the screening and secure a suitable venue they need to sell tickets in advance.
“We need you to spread the word and invite your family and friends to purchase tickets ahead of time,” a spokesperson said.
Any money left over after paying expenses will go to towards creating opportunities for the young participants involved in making the film.
She said the film was made with a message of hope and inspired by the real-life experiences of the young people involved in the making.
“Directed by award-winning film-maker Phillip Crawford with the support of community arts organisation Beyond Empathy, the film features six interwoven stories showing the risk-taking, disappointment, joys and love that come with growing up,” she said.
The stories in the film will hopefully encourage young people and their parents to talk about life and growing up.
Venue and date will be confirmed depending on the number of tickets pre-sold.Tickets cost $12 earlybird adult, $10 earlybird concession and are available from http://ropportmacquarie-eorg.eventbrite.com.au.
