PRELIMINARY designs for the Lake Cathie revetment wall will be on exhibition for a month commencing tomorrow.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council resolved at its February meeting to place the preliminary designs for the sea wall on exhibition for public comment.
The detailed design and documentation process will continue following the exhibition period so that the wall will be ready for construction once funding arrangements have been finalised.
The council’s development and environment director Matt Rogers said the Lake Cathie Revetment Wall Investigation and Design report had been prepared in line with the Lake Cathie Zone Management Plan (2013), adopted by Council on 20 November last year.
The report assessed a range of treatments and determined a rock armoured revetment to be the most suitable for conditions at Lake Cathie.
The concept design for the wall and surrounds to go on display this Friday incorporates a shared pathway, beach access points, seating and planting areas.
The council will be accepting written submissions on the preliminary designs up until the close of business on Friday 28 March. They will be available for viewing online at www.pmhc.nsw.gov.au
Hard copies will be available for viewing at the council’s Port Macquarie and Laurieton offices and copies of the report will be available on CD from the same offices.
Submissions can be made in writing to the General Manager, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, PO Box 84, Port Macquarie NSW, 2444 or by email to council@pmhc.nsw.gov.au
