HASTINGS pet owners have been asked to pull their paws out and get moving for a good cause.
The Million Paws Walk is just two months away and is the single most important way of supporting the RSPCA’s battle to stop animal cruelty.
Pet owners have been urged to register as soon as possible at millionpawswalk.com.au and start fundraising in the lead up to the event, which will be held on Sunday 18 May.
“The best part about all the Million Paws Walk events around the state is that funds raised stay in the local community to assist the RSPCA volunteer branches and regional shelters to take care of local animals,” an RSPCA spokesperson said.
This year the RSPCA hopes the walk will raise $300,000 to assist the more than 30,000 animals that it cares for each year.
The walk will be held from 9am to noon at the Port Macquarie Racecourse on the Oxley Highway.
