THREE local business women received accolades for their outstanding and inspirational success at the Hastings Business Women’s Network Awards Gala last week, while another three were honoured with the HBWN Tall Poppy life-membership award.
The awards gala, sponsored by Charles Sturt University, saw more than 70 HBWN members and guests celebrate the success of their peers and the achievements of the network at Eighteen Thirty Restaurant on Friday 22 November.
Hastings Business Women’s Network president Kelly Lamb said the deserving winners all exemplified what the HBWN stands for – achieving success in business while supporting those around them.
“The HBWN is all about growing tall poppies by encouraging, empowering, educating and engaging women in business as they strive for success, and the awards are a great way to nurture these qualities in the local business community,” Mrs Lamb said.
Three awards were presented this year including the members’ choice award, two professional development awards and three Tall Poppy life-membership awards.
The members’ choice award sponsored by Leslie Williams MP went to Sue Jogever (Coast Front Realty).
The professional development award sponsored by the Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce went to Barbara Smith of the Roving Trainer, and the second professional development award sponsored by the Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce went to Kathryn Stephens, a professional speaker, life and mindset coach.
Tall Poppy recipients were Anne-Marie Crowe (group marketing manager for Pacific Coast Shopping Centre), Sue Reid (village manager Stockland Lincoln Gardens) and Debbie Todd (Debbie Moore Real Estate).
