A FACEBOOK page has been set up in support of the teenager injured in an accident on the Wood Street football field in Port Macquarie.
The 15-year-old, Curtis Landers, a Forster Tuncurry Hawks player, reportedly fractured vertebrae in his neck while playing on Saturday.
The promising young footballer was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital but later flown to the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.
Family and friends set up a Facebook account, Curtis Landers road to recovery, where they are posting updates about his condition and well-wishers can leave messages of support.
This is the update posted on the site yesterday morning: “Hi guys, The MRI scan went well and showed good results. All of the pressure on his spine has been released, but he has a lot of swelling which is completely normal. We now just have to wait and see what happens as the swelling goes down, it’s a slow process, so keep up the support guys!”
